I wanted to let you know that we are opening up our seating in church again on MAY 31st.   This is exciting news.  The new sanctuary is ready for you!  We will be following the Governor’s guidelines for social distancing so there will be limited seating.  We will be offering registration only seating.  The link below will allow you to register online.  As of right now you will have assigned seating to assure the spacing for all of our guests.  This is going to be different, but we are all used to it now, right?  Here are some bullet points for the services.

  • You must register for this event through Eventbrite. REGISTER EVERYONE ATTENDING INCLUDING CHILDREN OF ALL AGES..  Click here to register
  • If you feel uncomfortable about coming or sick then we encourage you to stay home and continue to watch the livestream.
  • We will be following the social distancing policies.  Every other row and 3 seats between families and assigned seating.
  • There will be masks available at the door.
  • There will be no coffee or breakfast.
  •  There will be no children’s classes.  The kids can come but they must sit with you during service.

Dear Hope Church Family,

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”

even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!

How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.  – Psalm 139:1-18

God sees each one of us.  Right now.  Where we are.  He knows us.  He is for us.  He is with us.  He is bigger and stronger than we can even imagine.  Go to Him today with all that is in your heart and mind.  He’s a loving, caring Father.  His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.

The question on everyone’s mind is when is Hope Church going to begin our church building gatherings?  We are seeking the Lord for wisdom and searching out wisdom from the board, leadership team, and community leaders.  Stay connected via email and facebook for the latest updates.

We love you and miss seeing everyone’s faces.

With much love,

David & Julie and the Hope Church Leadership team

Dear Hope Church family,

You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.

This scripture jumped out to me this morning.  Think about all the church services, Bible studies, worship times and personal times with Jesus, they have all been preparing us for this battle that we are in.  The good news is that God will “subdue my enemies under my feet.”  Hear that…they are under our feet!   The victory is won because God has armed me with strength!  We have been prepped for such a time as this.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!  Hello@hopechurchatl.com

God is faithful,

Dear Hope Church Family,

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:6

It’s Easter Week!  This is a time for us to take a minute and think about the reality and love poured out on us with Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.  I love this scripture. It speaks so much to me. First, He did it. NOTHING is more powerful than Jesus. Death could not hold Him, the grave bowed before Him as the song says.  Second, it is just as He said. He does what He said He would do. During these times, it is so good to take a few minutes each day and ask God what He is saying. Find His promise to you and ask Him what action steps you are to take.  Then take those steps and rest in His love and tender care for you.

What different times we are walking through. I have been reminding myself that is exactly what we are doing… we are walking THROUGH. This will end. As we seek God’s face and ask for His help we will come through stronger in our faith and walk with God!

Help & Resources:

Prayer and other urgent needs can be submitted to hello@hopechurchatl.com or posted on the church prayer wall.

Upcoming meetups and Facebook Live events at Hope Church:

NEW!!!! Hope Hangouts – Mondays @ 1 PM & Thursdays @ 8 PM

The church is not a building. It’s the people of God called to spread the Good News of Jesus and encourage one another in the Lord. During this unique season, our current circumstances do not change God’s call to be a source of encouragement and support to one another. If anything, during this time we need each other even more.

Hope Hangouts allow our community to virtually ‘hangout’ with one another during the week. In addition to weekly Men’s and Women’s gatherings, Hangouts are bi-weekly video conference calls that allow you to drop-in for a few minutes to connect with others from Hope Church. Come as you can, for as long as you wish, to find encouragement for yourself and be there for others.

Mondays @ 1PM EST

Resources for those financially struggling

We have created a page with resources for those that are financially struggling during this time. You can access it here:

Dear Hope Church Family,

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Psalm 91:1-4

Hello church family! We miss seeing your faces. It’s been good to hear from the people of church. We’re hearing testimonies of God’s tender care for people. We continue to pray and stand on the promises of God through of this season. We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus the beginning and the end, the author and finisher of our faith. He will see us through!

If you missed last Sunday’s service, be sure and watch it (click here), it was so encouraging to see the testimony of Johan & Emily Rodriguez and enjoy worshipping with him.

As a church family, we are challenging all Hope Church people to the 1-2-3 challenge.
What???
The 1-2-3 challenge is to show love and kindness three times each day. It can be towards people in your home, coworkers, friends, fellow Hope Church members, neighbors, family, etc. What do you do? Love and kindness can be as simple as bringing a family member a cup of coffee, a glass of tea, sending an encouraging text, writing a kind note and drop it in the mail, praying for someone (and letting them know you were thinking of them), checking on someone, etc. You get the idea. It’s taking a minute and reaching out to do something kind and loving for someone else (And, yes, not losing your temper, doing dishes, running the vacuum, those count too).

So, this week, will you do join the Hope Church 1-2-3 challenge?

This Sunday we will continue to livestream our 10am service to encourage each other and show honor to the request of the government to help minimize the spread.

Dear Hope Church Family,

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.  God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:1-7

We pray for grace and peace for you.  We love and miss you all.  It’s a day by day walk to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus during these wild times.  We are standing together for God’s protection and provision that He gives because of His GREAT LOVE and TENDER CARE for us.  Remember, God loves you and He takes care of you.  Let’s keep our eyes on Him!

03.23.20

Hello Hope Church Family,

So here we are!  We talked on Sunday 3/22/20 about making God our refuge in these crazy times (Psalms 46).  If you missed the message, or simply would like to watch it again, click on the video below to watch it on Youtube HERE.

We make God our refuge as we intentionally keep our focus on Him.  So together as a church family, let’s do a YouVersion Bible devotional. I have chosen the 6 day “Overcomer” devotional.  Follow this link to get to it.

Let shatter fear anxiety and restlessness by the Word of God.  We are not going to “just get through this” we are going to come out stronger.  Let’s stay in the Word of God and overcome in this season.

If you have a prayer need, be sure and email us at hello@hopechurchatl.com.

Missing seeing all of you,

Pastor David
